They’ve arrested DjSwitch. She live streamed the whole thing. They’ve arrested her and taken her to an unknown location. The soldiers were instructed to shoot her on sight.
The government has turned off the lights and removed all the CCTV cameras, they did this before the military surrounded the protesters. They did it intentionally because they didn’t want the world to see their evil deed. Some people were able to go live on instagram, so we could see, but now the government has shut down all signals to the area so there is no service. All Lagos state emergency lines are off. The soldiers are blocking ambulances from going in to rescue those that have been shot and injured.
I haven’t cried like this is a long time😢. Nigeria is burning.
Today, 10/20/2020 the Nigerian government sent the military to kill unarmed innocent civilians, a bloody massacre.
Every single drop of innocent Nigerian blood spilled will judge Buhari, Sanwo-Olu and Tinubu. They will never know peace. The blood of the innocent will curse them. They will suffer severely before they die.
It is 10pm in Nigeria, these soldiers are still killing civilians.
okay you know that scan/photo of a teen girl’s diary entry that goes like “wore yellow dress today. chris keeps trying to talk to me even though he KNOWS i’m not interested! ugh! man landed on moon.” anyway that’s the mood
Shrek is an inherently Jewish story about Jews not being able to own land (land under the domain of the king, this is an actual and factual thing that has happened in Jewish history), being seen as less than human, perhaps monstrous. “Shrek!” Is a children’s book by a Jewish author, “shrek” is a Yiddish word meaning “fear or fright.” While admittedly the book doesn’t have these same elements of the movie (Shrek’s parent’s kick him out) the movie legitimately makes perfect sense as a parable for antisemitism and anyways I like both Shrek and Leonard Cohen and hate Xtian covers of the song :)
“Shrek is an inherently Jewish story” is not the take I ever expected to read but damn if it isn’t interesting now that I think about it
A job that allows one to abuse others with virtual impunity will always attract those who want to and will.
So glad to know we’re giving this technology to a group of people who will almost certainly abuse it to murder people in the worst case scenario and in the best case scenario will allow them to continue arresting innocent civilians for non-violent petty crimes during a global pandemic in a disinfected car.
Yeah as an Aussie I can tell you they absolutely fucking will because they already have
Yusuf Abdul-Qadir: what percent of the police live in the city?
mayor: about 5% or so
Yusuf Abdul-Qadir: 5%, so 95% don’t live in the city.
mayor: yes.
Yusuf Abdul-Qadir: so when you say that the vast majority of the percentage goes towards salaries, et cetera, fringe benefits, that means that they take their money on 81, go to outside the city, pay taxes in those communities that have some of the best schools while we have an underfunded school district–
someone else: $60 million up.
Yusuf Abdul-Qadir: so i just want to put into context what we’re talking about, because it’s really easy to say, mayor– and with all due respect, i like you. but that was a very politician answer.
mayor: sorry, what specifically?
Yusuf Abdul-Qadir: the, “we will consider, and we will look.” what we’re saying is we’re not interested in considering and looking. what we’re saying is, actually, there’s $50 million. commit to $20 million cut, because we’re sending money– as the mayor of Syracuse, when you don’t have a tax base, you’re sending money out of Syracuse. and not just for 30 years– for the rest of their life because their pensions, their health insurance, their families. so we are funding for other people’s communities to have the promise of the American dream while we are denying it in our community. that’s the context that you, as the mayor, have to look at this under.
so when we talk about renegotiating union contract, what we’re saying is you can’t play around with, “maybe, um, we will–” no. y’all got to go, because you don’t provide a service that is beneficial to the community, that is meaningful to the community. the services that you provide criminalize our community, impoverish our community, reallocate resources to suburbs. we are actually funding the suburbs, both in our police departments and in our schools.
and to be clear, just to be clear, it’s not just the fact of, like, the percentage of people. we’re also funding what race of people are on the police force, the percentage of race of teachers, as well, superintendent, board president. so we want to put in context, because it’s not just a class issue. it’s a race issue. we’re telling black and brown people and poor people, you don’t matter. the devil’s in the data and in the details, mayor. respectfully, it is not acceptable for us to be here considering.]
And I wish people in this fandom would stop making the cast’s sexuality their fucking business. But, alas, it seems neither of us can get what we wish for.
